Four Things We Learnt at TTG 2025

March 12, 2025

1.

Loyalty and Customer Rewards being recognised inTransport operators are increasingly exploring ways to integrate loyalty programs and rewards into account-based ticketing (ABT). By offering incentives such as fare discounts or perks for frequent travelers, they aim to encourage public transport use and enhance customer retention. Think this resonated with Daniel Blazquez @ Integrisys S.A.

2.

Adaptability to Diverse Payment Methods: Understanding that passengers have varying preferences, The Hub's solutions are designed to accommodate multiple payment options, including traditional smart cards, mobile payments, tokenization - and as Ian Robinson and Michael Wevill MCIHT reminded us - cash is well, not king, but still crucial. This flexibility ensures that all passengers can access public transport services with ease.

3.

Focus on Interoperability & Integration: Interoperability is crucial for creating unified ticketing systems that enhance the passenger journey across various regions, transport modes and ticketing systems (ITSO vs EMV). The Hub's API-based integration capabilities facilitate seamless account management for customers. One to explore with Sam Greaves FCILT from Tower Transit Group.

4.

Advanced Data Analytics increasingly important: The importance of data in enhancing passenger experiences is clearly increasing. The Hub Commander Mission Control dashboard that provides operators with real-time insights, enabling them to make more informed decisions and improve service reliability - which was well received by all the visitors to our stand.

We should also probably have mentioned EMV concessions that came up alot - but think that is worth another post all of its own.
